MBTA Wall Almost Collapsed

The MBTA in Boston had a huge problem. One of the 40-foot walls inside the Porter Square MBTA station was about to collapse.

The wall itself had been damaged by water and was threatening to topple onto the train tracks. Engineers had to cut off power to two different sections of the station and redirect trains to ensure they were able to safely make repairs.

The good news is that the MBTA station at Porter Square is completely safe. The wall itself was part of a soundproofing panel and, had it fell, would not have caused any structural damage to the building.
